Scheme of Assessment
The Advanced Subsidiary GCE (AS) forms 50% of the assessment weighting
of the full Advanced GCE (A2). Advanced Subsidiary GCE is assessed
at a standard between GCSE and Advanced GCE, and can be taken as
a stand-alone qualification or as the first part of the full Advanced
GCE course. Assessment is by means of two units of assessments for
Advanced Subsidiary and four units of assessments for Advanced GCE.

At least grade B at GCSE
Course Summary
Latin is a well-regarded A-level subject
and goes well with other modern languages, as well as English and
History.
Several universities offer Honours degrees in Classical Studies,
which can include the study of Classical Greek for beginners. Such
degrees prepare students for many careers, and in the past such
students have gone on into journalism, law, archaeology and corporate
posts in multi-national companies.
