What will I do

The acquisition of Fine art skills and understanding through a personal development.

The aim of this examination is to encourage independence and individuality. It demands a high degree of commitment - developing skills can be very time-consuming! However, it can also be rewarding and great fun.

Develop knowledge in Fine Art and the development of meaning through visual exploration within a personal or social context.
Develop skills in control of formal elements, techniques and technologies and the application to the selected media.
Gain understanding through a reflective combination of knowledge and skills resulting in an expressive outcome.
Understand context within Fine Art as this is a significant element of knowledge. It refers to how ideas, feelings and meanings connect to images and artefacts at a personal level and how they are also socially constructed over time through genres, styles and traditions. Candidates need to demonstrate an understanding of context in their work.
