The House system has been rebranded this year (July 2011) with the student body choosing star constellations to symbolise their House identity. On entry into the school all girls join one of three Houses - Cygnus, Orion and Ursa. The Houses work as a vertical structure within the school in which all year groups work together in vertically organised tutor groups and in various social or sporting activities. Each Head of House oversees the pastoral welfare and academic progress of girls supported by their prefect teams. A range of House competitions are run throughout the academic year with the inter-house sports day taking place at the end of the summer term. Commendations are given for exceptionally good work or sustained effort and house points are given for helpful behaviour.
